Why TSA Tours
Reasons we're your best choice
Selecting an educational travel organization for you and your participants is certainly challenging and can be confusing and overwhelming. To assist you in making an informed decision, we have listed the major issues that you should research when comparing companies.
Click the statement below to see the detailed explanation.
- 25 years of experience in providing quality tours for educators and students.
- One of the best measuring tools for a successful educational travel organization is the number of years that the organization has provided quality tours. Ask for references. Talk with other teachers who have traveled with the tour company. Contact the Better Business Bureau for an analysis of the company that you are considering. Educators have “chat rooms” that enable you to find out what other individuals have experienced with the organization. Please ask for our reference list of educators who have traveled with us over the last 25 years.
- Flights confirmed up to 11 months in advance.
- Airline reservation systems will allow group bookings 11 months in advance to the departure date. Unlike most other educational travel organizations, TSA Tours blocks air seats for your group (and we deposit with the airlines to hold your group space) just as soon as you approve your itinerary. We do this at no obligation to you or your group. This process greatly reduces the need for future departure date changes, and this will allow your participants adequate time to apply for “Frequent Flyer Program” with the airline.
- Our Truth in pricing – No “hidden” charges, No additional charges for registration and materials fee, current airline taxes, weekend charges and full comprehensive travel insurance package.
- Our group leaders and the participants (and their families) appreciate our “Truth in Pricing Policy”. The price on the brochure is the total price of the itinerary. There are NO HIDDEN CHARGES. The only optional item is the Optional Trip Cancellation insurance plan, which should remain a personal decision for each participant and their family. When comparing prices with another organization, be sure to ask for the complete and total price before comparing trip costs.
- Choose where YOU want to travel, how long YOU want to stay, and what YOU want to see and do?
- If you are going to travel to one of our suggested destinations, why not see and do what YOU want to see and do. This is our commitment to you. We want to allow you to develop your own itinerary….one that is meaningful to you and your participants. You don’t buy groceries that you don’t want when you shop at your local store. So, why buy excursions and field trips that you don’t want or need. Click on “Design a Custom Tour” tab on our web site (www.tsatours.com) where you can modify an already popular itinerary or create an itinerary from scratch. We have an extensive list of available excursions and field trips to assist you in designing your own itinerary. And, we have Travel Counselors to assist you every step of the way.
- All tips for all overseas staff (Courier and long distance coach drivers) included.
- With most educational travel organizations, this is another “hidden” cost. Keep in mind that this is a very important issue if your participants are young adults. Teenagers are not accustomed to tipping and especially on an overseas trip. It is often difficult for them to “save” money until the end of the trip so that the courier and coach driver receive the “expected tips” for providing very good service. We’ve made it simple for you and your participants. We’ve included all tips.
- Traveling courier, part-time courier or local assistance -- YOUR choice.
- Again, TSA Tours allows you to make intelligent choices when designing your tour. You decide on how much help you want during your trip. Many of our very experienced group leaders do not want the assistance of a courier (often called a Professional Tour Manager). They prefer to have our “Technical Itinerary” which is a highly detailed, step by step handbook created solely for your itinerary. The “Technical Itinerary” includes all aspects of your trip, all overseas contacts’ names, addresses, phone numbers, hotel vouchers, excursion entrance tickets, etc. However, other group leaders prefer to have the assistance of a courier, someone who stays in the same hotel as the group and is available 24/7. You can have this courier throughout the itinerary or for part of the itinerary. In either case, we always have representatives in EACH of the major cities in Europe to assist you at any time. This is another way in which TSA Tours offers you an opportunity to tell us your preference.
- Price Guarantee Plan.
- No one likes surprises, but we live in a world that is constantly changing. Currency exchange rates change daily; airline fares have regular increases, and overseas costs increase without notice. Nevertheless, we have created an excellent “Price Guarantee Plan” to assist you and your participants. As you would expect, there are reasonable conditions. Be sure to read this plan in the Terms and Conditions on your personalized brochure, and encourage your participants to guarantee their program price.
- No adult surcharges.
- In our young adult groups, additional adults traveling (parents, colleagues, friends) are often very helpful to you, the group leader. To encourage this, we do not have an “adult surcharge” even though there are often “adult charges” for many of the entrances on your trip. Our programs are based on multi-bedded rooms, and adults requesting twin accommodations will be charged for twin accommodations (which on most land itineraries is usually in the $50 - $90 range per week). (Twin accommodations are required for married couples, and a reasonable supplement will be added to their invoice.)
- Pay part or all of your trip cost by credit card without an additional service fee.
- TSA Tours allows all participants to pay their invoices with three major credit cards: American Express, Mastercard, and Visa. There are no additional service fees for using a credit card, and participants have the added financial protection offered by the credit card companies.
- High quality cruises worldwide for student and adult tours.
- TSA Tours offers more cruises than any other educational travel organization. Cruising is a pleasant, non-stressful way of traveling to a variety of exciting destinations without having to pack and unpack at a variety of hotels. Ask us about our cruises in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Pacific, Baltic, and river cruises on the major rivers in Europe and Russia.
- Use your European coach & driver for free time transportation.
- Many of our custom itineraries include “chartering” a motorcoach. The motorcoach and driver have been assigned to your group during the traveling portion of your itinerary. During your free time, please feel free to use the coach for reasonable local transportation for your group. Click here for a sample of our quality coaches.
- Assistance with seat assignments and mileage credit.
- TSA Tours believes in providing customer service to the highest degree. Let us help you and your group with flight seat assignments and with receiving mileage credit.
- Centrally located 3 and 4 star hotels.
- Besides the quality of your hotel, the first most important aspect to your hotel is its location. Being centrally located saves valuable time in getting to the sites you want to visit, and saves money on the expensive local transportation systems. We have been very successful in finding good quality hotels in the best locations for your specific itinerary.
- Flexi-dining – Dinners in hotels, restaurants, or cash value.
- Your itinerary becomes more interesting and effective if you consider pre-planning your dining choices. For example, many group leaders ask for cash for dinner on the theatre night in London. In this way, your participants may be out for the afternoon, have dinner in a variety of different restaurants, and then everyone meets at the theatre. Also, depending on your planned schedule and personal preference, you can elect to have your evening meals in your hotel or in a nearby restaurant. These choices are especially helpful for an all-adult group.
- Academic credit available for you and your students.
- You and your participants may receive high school or college credit for participating in a TSA Tours program. Apply for credit well in advance through the registrar’s office in your school. Credit is granted at the discretion of your local school authorities and/or your State Department of Education. However, TSA Tours also provides a list of academic institutions offering college credit courses for our participants. Please contact TSA Tours for a current list of these institutions.
- Homestays available on select itineraries.
- TSA Tours offers you an opportunity for your participants to experience a homestay on all or part of your itinerary. A homestay requires a minimum of three nights in one location and is available on specific itineraries in France, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Costa Rica, and in Ecuador.
- Stipends and bonus rewards sent to you BEFORE departure.
- TSA Tours wants you to have any personal funds available to you BEFORE you depart on your itinerary. A check will be sent to you in plenty of time so that your financial preparation for the trip is not a last-minute item.
- And… Annual Symposium to honor your outstanding efforts.
- Each year our most successful group leaders are selected as delegates to the International Symposium on Educational Travel. In exchange for sharing views on international educational travel, delegates receive complimentary transportation, accommodations, meals, sightseeing and local entertainment.
